Frustratingly, I know which characters will die or feature throughout the series via the On Demand auto-generated episode thumbnails as soon as I open the programme page.
In linear TV, episode trailers give you a reminder to watch and entice you into staying within the series - but you don't see them all at once!
Perhaps this space can be used instead to entice in a similar way to the linear space or navigate editorially to another piece of content?
I believe it is about time to review the purpose of this key marketing real estate where thumbnails currently give the game away...
We’re now at a stage where marketers should pull back the reigns to lead the technology and not the other way around, or at least work together for a more audience focused approach to VOD promotion.
